About the Author

The enchanted children’s story Fairy Dragons is a tale that combines fiction and non-fiction, of a type often referred to as “fairy tales”. Fairy Dragons is part of a much larger novel written for an older audience called Once Upon a Time, But Not So Far Away.

I was born in Napa. Both stories I wrote during my stay at the 1922 era cottage home at my family’s fourth generation farm in the Napa Valley.

My writing is filled with the love I have always felt for this special valley since childhood. These stories are deeply enriched with the embroidery of imagination, my experience of living an enchanted life in the valley, and the more real magic of the valley that often goes unseen.

Much like the beautiful patchwork quilts of the Victorian era, when remnants of exquisite pieces of cherished fabrics were sewn together, and embellished with the intricate handcraft of adornment by needle and thread, I have crafted my own work of telling a great story for the young at heart, and making beautiful magical crafts.

I enjoy the hobby of studying the Earth Sciences and the practices of Lapidary Arts and Crafts. I have been Past President of both the California Federation of Mineralogical Societies, the Northwest Federation of Mineralogical Societies, which are members of the national organization, the American Federation of Mineralogical Societies.
